Fourteen years of being with my best friend! Praise God, for the gift of a wonderful friend, wife and mother. We spent the early part of the day with Karen’s sister (by re-marriage because step-sister sounds so disconnected to me) and niece who is 3 months old. For Karen a baby is the closest thing to heaven on earth.
Later in the afternoon, Karen really wanted pizza fresh from the oven so we went Johnny’s Pizza (Newnan) for dinner. Despite most of the day spent battling nausea and fatigue she was determined to enjoy “our day”. She made a homemade apple pie which was in a word AWESOME! I have an extra pound or two that can attest to how well she can bake and cook.
We spent the entire day surround by our favorite people; our children. We are blessed.

Today’s blood tests revealed Karen’s blood counts are dropping (not unexpected) but she was deemed well enough to receive a 75% dose of Gemzar by infusion.
There was more talk of treatment changes but even less detail of what those changes would mean in terms of side affects, treatment schedules, etc… This remains an area of extreme concern for Karen. The options are not something I will discuss now because there are many. I do ask you to pray specifically for wisdom and peace.
Until next time….

My prayers continue for Karen and her beautiful family. Healing, peace and God's grace...know that those near and far have you in their daily thoughts and prayers.
