Depending on where you are it may be hard to believe today is the first day of fall. For Karen and I, fall is second only to spring when it comes to our favorite seasons of the year.
It also means the Breast Cancer Awareness month of October is fast approaching. There are many charitable organizations involved in the fight against breast cancer. The Susan G. Komen foundation has a unique way of raising funds. They call it the3day. The3day is a three day 60 mile walk where each participant raises funds to walk. The walks are held in about a dozen major cities nationwide. Net proceeds from the Breast Cancer 3-Days benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure, to fund breast cancer research and community outreach, as well as the National Philanthropic Trust Breast Cancer Fund, to provide an endowment for breast cancer initiatives.
This year’s walk is scheduled to be October 12-14. Karen is being honored by Juli Gordon who has dedicated the time she will spend walking to Karen and other women with breast cancer. She has personally committed to $2,200 whether she raises the funds or not. If you would like to sponsor Juli as she walks please click here.
Whether you give financially or not, please pray for Juli as she continues to train for the walk. It’s not a race but its still 60 miles in 3 days!
Finally and most importantly, I encourage you to do the exams and pay attention to changes in your body. If you think something isn’t right see your doctor. If your concerns are dismissed and you still feel something isn’t right see another doctor. Only God knows your body better than you do!
Until next time…

Not hard for us to believe Fall is here already...our HIGH temps are mid 40s to around 50. The snow will be flying SOON! ;)
Just wanted you to know that, in addition to the wonderful job Juli did with your pictures, I really like the picture (PINK ribbon and all ~smile~) that she's got posted on her 3 Day Walk page...it's very sweet.
We're remembering you ALL in our prayers and asking everyone we know to do the same.
We love you!

Thank you Darren for including the link to Juli's page. She is a wonderful lady and photographer and this is her first year to walk. She was having a hard time raising the money, so I'm trying to help all I can.
You are all in my prayers everyday!
Lynn
