25NOV06

We received the results from the tumor marker test. There was another increase to 409 up from 401. Although the numbers went up instead of down as we hoped, the increase is much smaller than recent results and for that we are thankful.

Karen began round 2 of Xeloda (chemotherapy) on Thanksgiving Day. She will take 2000 mg daily for the next two weeks then take one week off. She is scheduled to see the oncologist again December 7th.

As you may have noticed we have a new picture on the blog. Normally I like to have one of Karen on there but she insisted on having this one posted. Yes, that is me in my absolutely favorite attire; overalls. I'm surrounded by five of my most favorite people in the world.

Please pray the medications she is taking will work with her immune system to destroy the cancerous cells within her body while sparing her from the side affects. Also, please continue to pray for Katie Smith (the niece of a co-worker of mine); she has been sleeping peacefully most of the time, waking less and less. If you would like to read more about her and her family and learn of more specific ways to pray for them follow this link www.carepages.com. It is necessary, but really quite simple, to create an account to view her page which is Katieshug.

Thank you for checking in on our family and most of all for your prayers, until next time.

Hi Karen! You are always in my thoughts and prayers. What absolutely gorgeous children. And they have your dad's eyes. I know they got them from you, but they make me think of your dad also. And you are very handsome too Darren. I am praying for all of you.
