Since last update the pain in Karen’s feet and hands has lessened! We were hoping the break from chemo would bring healing to her hands/feet and her energy levels would improve. The pain is mostly gone and her energy levels did improve for a few days but then plummeted over the last 72 hours. Hopefully so have the tumor markers. Speaking of tumor markers we won’t have an update on them until her next visit as the staff didn’t perform the test.
I know the updates have been fewer in recent weeks. I’ve attempted more than have been posted but after reading them they sound so depressing and down that I couldn’t bring myself to post them. With each round of chemo Karen has become more fatigued. The pain in her hands and feet was so severe that she walked, using her words, “Like a little old lady”. In the realm of suffering from cancer these side affects are small when compared to what she has been through in the past and what others have endured, even still it starts to get to you after awhile. Not just physically but mentally and emotionally.
She is scheduled to start another round of chemotherapy on Thursday, 22 February. Please pray her strength drastically improves by then. Pray for strength to endure and the revised dosage and schedule of chemotherapy will destroy the cancer without bringing harsh side affects. We don’t trust in the medication or the doctors but in God. We believe all things are possible in Him.
Until next time…
